What is the Church?

The church is not a New Testament phenomenon created at the Day of Pentecost. The church reaches back to the Garden of Eden with the inauguration of the covenant of grace after man's fall into sin. Emphasis is placed on the various names for the church in the Old and New Testament and the various biblical images used to define the church such as in I Corinthians 12; Ephesians 5; Hebrews 12, and Revelation 21.
