That the Bible speaks of "election", God choice of sinners for salvation, cannot be denied (Ephesians 1:4, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 1:9, etc.), but on what basis was this choice made? Was it something right that God foresaw in a person, or entirely because of "the good pleasure of His will" (Ephesians 1:5, 9, 11)? And why does the Bible even speak of election?
