Here I Am Send Me

In both the Old Testament and the New Testament God called a people out to build His Kingdom and He called a people out to reach the lost.

With that in mind this morning I would like us to have a look at the Prophet Isaiah in the Old Testament. Isaiah has a heart for God and he had a heart for people. Now we as believers in Jesus Christ need to have the same attitude as Isaiah.

If you are a Christian you need to have a heart for God and a heart for people.

Isaiah was called to his ministry around 740 BC. When you read Isaiah you find out that he got married Isa 8.1 and Isaiah had two sons.

Isaiah writes about his conversion and his call to ministry in Isaiah Chapter 6.

Uzziah the reigning King had died in the year that Isaiah was called to ministry. This King had been one of Judah's greatest leaders.

A great King had departed the world but an even greater King was in complete control in Heaven.

For a person to experience conversion they have got to acknowledge that there is a creator.

Unfortunately many people see the wonders of creation and yet deny the Creator.

Isaiah saw the Creator sitting on His throne in Heaven surrounded by Heavenly Creatures proclaiming the Holiness of God.

The First stage of conversion is to acknowledge that there is a Creator.

The Second stage of a person's conversion involves Conviction.
Isaiah saw and heard that God was Holy and Isaiah was not!

When Isaiah saw the Holiness of God, Isaiah saw the Un-holiness of himself and the un-holiness of his people. Isaiah was convicted of his sins. The Conviction of God led to Confession to God which led to the Cleansing of God.
