He was despised and rejected of men. Jesus claimed to be God manifested in the flesh. He saves who he pleases. They were spiritually blind. 1 Corinthians 2:14 The natural man receives not the things of the spirit of God because the are spiritually discerned. He claimed to be sovereign.
The Jews hated Him because He said their works were no good. He declared the people to be blind sinners.
