The Only Gospel, Only the Gospel
Series Critical Issues
The life of faith, that is begun by faith, had its beginning at a point in time and continues on throughout that life. What keeps people from being in a relationship with God is their sin. It is not because of their past or any surrounding social, cultural, or environmental issues. So changing or reforming those settings will do nothing to meet their spiritual needs.
Only the truth of the Gospel message provides lasting and enduring hope and relief. This precious lifesaving and lifegiving Gospel message is unchanging, sufficient and exclusive. Be that message changed in anyway - whether by adding to it or taking away from it or substitutions made for parts of it - it becomes ineffective and powerless to realize its potential.
This message begins with a review of the commission given by Christ to His followers in the proclaiming of this good news, and then surveys the spread of it through the early churches as recorded in the book of Acts.
It becomes clear that people, Jew and Gentile alike, were being saved by believing the same gospel message, and only that gospel message. And so continues the work of the Spirit of God, through the Word of God, in saving souls today.
