God Takes The Initiative

WE hear many sermons that speak of man seeking God. Romans 3:11 paints a rather different picture. "There is none that understandeth, , there is none that seeketh after God." Left to themselves, mankind would never seek after the true God. In verses 5 and 6 this is clearly stated. "For the hope that is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard in the word of the truth of the Gospel; which IS COME UNTO YOU, as it is in all the world....." And how does this usually happen? God sending His messengers, in the case of the Colossians, Epaphras. While God is sovereign in the matter of salvation, He has ordained that the message is to be proclaimed by His people. This is something that is woefully neglected in these days. We are to broadcast the faith and we are to contend for the Faith, once delivered.
