Gnosticism

The Church at Colosse was infected by the Gnostic heresy, and to a lesser extent, by the Judaising heresy. The introduction is very similar to the other epistles. Paul speaks of his Apostleship as being directly from Christ, thereby establishing his authority. He, in the epistle, is determined to teach them that Christ is all in all. He greets them as believers and their faith which they had heard in the word of the. truth.
