The blessed union between Christ and every true believer

Of all the sermons, discourses and parables spoken by the Lord, surely this last discourse with His disciples as he ascended the hill toward the garden of Gethsemane was the most affectionate and heartwarming discourses they had ever heard.

Having spent the last few hours alone with His disciples in an upper chamber, where he declared unto them some of the most intimate and personal truths concerning Himself and their love for one another and where he celebrated the Passover with them for the last time, would now, under the moonlit night begin to explain the intimate bound and relationship between Himself and every true believer.

Of all our Savior's discourses spoken as he walked amongst men, this is surely the most affectionate and compassionate of them all.

Filled with such great love and compassion, yet mingled with solemn and earnest exhortations. Well worth our time and effort to learn these glorious truths!
