[11/13/2022 AM] - "The Glory and the Mission" - Mark 9:1-8

In the morning we come to Mark 9.1-8, the transfiguration. This incredible text is very rich in Old Testament fulfillment. I would suggest that you read Exodus 24:9-18, 1 Kings 19.9-18 along with 2 Peter 1.16-18. These passages will whet your appetite and open your heart toward the glories awaiting us in the morning.

Theme: The Mission of our Majestic Messiah is manifest
on the mountain

1. After a preparatory week, the movement is toward majesty

2. Majesty is manifest on the mountain by a removal of His humility

3. This third mountain-top manifestation leaves Peter perplexed

4. The Voice affirms Jesus as the Messiah of the mission
