I Will, So I Can, That I May…

I Will, So I Can, That I May…

Whatever It Takes...

I will, So I can, That I may…

A brief look at a little history and help from Psalm 26.

King David penned this simple little outline during a VERY challenging time in his life. The potential for false accusations and reproach was tremendous and he desperately needed to be vindicated.

Within days of one another two high profile leaders in Israel had been assassinated, and David knew how easy it would be for everyone to think he was behind it. And looking at it from the outside, it would appear that he orchestrated the entire thing. But he didn't, yet, he obviously sensed he was isolated and the only one who knew he was innocent. And being alone, with no one to turn to, can be a cold and lonely place.

But what did he do? He fixed his eyes upon the Lord, opens his mouth and spills his heart out before his King as he writes Psalm 26. And he says in verses 6 and 7: "I WILL wash my hands in innocence; SO I CAN go about Your alter, O Lord, THAT I MAY proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all Your wondrous works."
