Christ, The Ultimate Unknown Soldier!

344

Few stories are more intriguing than that of the 'Unknown Soldier' - the only British serviceman who was brought home to London from the battlefields of France after World War I.

Though he was "unknown by name or rank," this soldier become a national emblem for grief, an anonymous symbol of all those lost without trace in the carnage of the battlefields. At once individual and for all: that Unknown Soldier could be any mother's son, anyone's father or brother!

It is impossible to retell this wonderful story without thinking of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is 'The Ultimate Unknown Soldier'!

John 1:10-12 reminds us, "He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. 11 He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. 12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on His name."
