The Text and Translation of Scripture -- 2

Pastor Jeff expounds paragraph 9 of LBCF chapter 1. The premise is simple enough, 'The people of God have a right to the Scriptures in their own language.' However, we know this has been a controversial point over the years, as the Roman Catholic Church prior to, during, and many years after the Reformation tried to make sure the Latin Vulgate was the only recognized Bible for all people in all the world, even if they did not know Latin.

Many people want to say the English is all we need. Those that see the need for Hebrew and Greek often feel uneasy about their own inadequacies in these languages, and feel they are at the mercy of others who know the languages better than themselves.

Pastor Jeff deals with these issues. There is a lot of discussion during this lesson, but the message has been enhanced, and the comments can be clearly heard.
