Words and looks

As Christ is dragged from his arrest to his trial, Peter follows at a distance—that more or less sums up the problem. We trace Peter's experience at the fire, in the talk, with the sound, at the look, and through the tears. More subtly but no less certainly in the garden, we need to remember that the Lord's words and looks continue to guide all that is taking place. He continues to fulfil his plans and purposes.
