The pride of man is staggering, it is also his destruction. The Lord Jesus speaks to His Father in heaven, Lord of heaven and earth, since the proud would not hear Him. How often our Lords people have a similar experience! Nevertheless the Saviour continued to preach, and so must we, for "God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."
