Of the Church - Part 1 (2LCF 26)

The Baptist Divines define and defend the reality of and relationship between the universal and local church. Christ died for his church, which consists of the elect in all ages. The universal church finds expression in local churches, where Christians of the same geographical region gather together. There is no perfect local church on this side of heaven, but all true churches - who preach the true gospel - can be assured that Christ, the head, shall nourish his body.
