The Permissive Will of God in the Crucifixion

This morning we want to start with a fuller explanation of something I said last week. I made the statement that “No sin is outside of God’s will.” What I was thinking and meant to say was that no sin is outside of God’s permissive will, or outside of His control. I was questioned about that after the service and it is worth explaining and looking at. We have many verses that illustrate this, but let’s look at several with regard to the crucifixion. As we look at this, we need to understand that this was God’s will, it was done in accordance with His plan, and yet it was done by the free will actions of men.
