Vanishing Beggar's Gold 8
Series Modern Truth to Ancient Rome
Kathy, filled with alarm, rushed through the door to help her elderly neighbours. A massive rolling fire was breathing down onto their house, minutes before consuming it. Kathy and some other volunteers managed to get the wife to safety. On that day, true heroes emerged, who were not afraid to give their lives for people they went to rescue.
In Romans 5, we are considering something God has done in the life of a ruined sinner. He has taken a helpless rebel, has provided the necessary rescue from that state, and now the former rebel stands rescued on the safe side of the disaster; like the wife in our story.
A number of things are true of people whom God has rescued in this way--justified through faith. It is these facets of a new, rescued life that this message explores.
