The Wisdom of the Child Jesus

Only Luke records Jesus visit to Jerusalem for the passover of His 12th year. This was a highly significant event in Jesus' childhood. Jesus' pious parents go to Jerusalem for the Passover. Assuming that Jesus was among their group, they departed only to discover His absence. They rushed back to the city & located Him after three days in the temple, discoursing with the teachers. Were some of the men who would later crucify Him now astonished by His youthful wisdom? His understanding & answers were amazing. Again we see the development of the Messiah - Him upon whom the spirit of wisdom & of understanding rests.
