The Way Forward

The very condition of the hearts of the Israelites in response to the death of Moses and the call to go into that land where there be giants would have given many an Israelite some reason to be afraid, and yet God has done marvelous things in their midst and calls them not be afraid or dismayed, but to take courage in Him. Joshua would lead Israel into the land in order to take possession of that which had been given to them by God, no other nations laying rightful claim to that which God has given to another. The book of Joshua is a record of Israel's slow march of conquest, and ultimate failure to enter that rest which only Christ can and would one day give.
