Who Do Men Say That I Am?

“WHO DO MEN SAY THAT I AM?”
TEXT: Mt. 16:13-16

SUMMARY: One's view of who Jesus Christ is will determine how one responds to His message. Those who do not believe that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the living God,” will not take His message seriously; those who do believe who He is will hear His message and be transformed by it.

I. IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE HE IS “THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD” YOU WILL NOT TAKE HIS MESSAGE SERIOUSLY.
A. The unbelieving world has little use for Christ.
B. Mankind's rejection is both old and new.
C. None of this rejection should surprise us.

II. IF YOU BELIEVE HE IS LORD YOU WILL BELIEVE HIS MESSAGE AND BE TRANSFORMED BY IT.
A. Man Cannot by his own will Acknowledge Who Christ Is.
B. God Has Determined that His Name will be Praised.
C. God has called out a people who will willingly praise Him.
