The Message of Exodus (Sermon)

Sermon Point: Exodus shows you God's purpose for you: As God's redeemed people, gather in covenant community to worship Him.

Sermon Outline:

1. Exodus 1-18 relates God's redemption of His people; Passover remembers this great event (Exodus 12:21-28; 41-42; 51-52).
2. In like manner, God redeems you and me; Christ is our Passover (1 Corinthians 5:7).
3. Then, in Exodus 19-24, God formed His people into a covenant community (Exodus 24:1-8).
4. Today, God also forms you into a covenant community (1 Corinthians 11:25-26).
5. Finally, in Exodus 25-40, God's purpose was to fashion His redeemed covenant people into a worshiping community (Exodus 25:8-9).
6. God's purpose for you as God's redeemed people is to gather you in covenant community to worship Him (2 Corinthians 6:16).
