Our Only Comfort

Often the Heidelberg Catechism comes under criticism. Although we need these criticisms, we believe that the Heidelberg Catechism serves as a valid guide through the Word of God. The Catechism does well at giving the complete doctrine of the Bible. It does not replace the scripture, but lends itself as a "textbook" to the Gospel. LD 1 is an introduction to the Catechism, and addresses our only comfort in life and death - that we are saved by our Lord Jesus Christ.
