How illustrative was Saul's trip to Endor. Having rejected the Lord's counsel and command, killed His priests, and been abandoned by His prophet, he is left bereft of help. In desperation he seeks light in the darkest place ever he had known, "If the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness."
