Sticks and Stones

This is the account of the man who was stoned to death for picking up sticks on the Sabbath.

It points beyond itself to the death of Jesus, whose perfect life and substitutionary death establish the Sabbath rest for all believers.

We enter into that Sabbath rest when we cease working for our salvation and rest on the finished work of Christ.
