The Recovery of a Diminishing Practice - Church Discipline

M.L. Jones one asked, "what is the reason for the lack of power and influence upon men and women? Why is the Church in such a parlous condition? The answer is the failure to exercise discipline".
Not only is the subject of Church discipline neglected but discipline itself is neglected.
The resulting trajedy is to see huge number sof professing beleivers especially young people who go clubing on Friday and Saturday night yet sit in the pew on the Lord's Day without the least concern at the glaring inconsistency that is practised in their lives. Many of whom are soloists and duetists in Church worship. The failure to discipline has resulted in a serious weakening of the purity of the Church. A perfidious tolerance has been practised to the detriment of the Church and its witness.
