Recovery of the Widow's Son

Luke is the only gospel narrator to describe this amazing miracle of the raising of the young man who had died of an undisclosed cause. As Jesus leaves Capernaum and enters the city of Nain He encounters this funeral procession on the way to be bury the body of this young man. We must note carefully the coincidences and timing of our Master's appearance and the proper place and proper timing to perform this miracle. This was no accidental meeting; it was the working out of the divine purpose. No one asked for a miracle to be performed but Christ did what Christ does best, He met the needs of this young man and his widowed mother.
