Doing Good

In today’s passage, we are going to look at Galatians 6:6-10 and discuss well doing or “Doing Good.” There are many in the congregation that are doing good. Spiritually, you may be walking close to the Lord, loving fellow church members, and having an influence in the community. This is a blessing for your family, the church, and the world. I pray each one of you leaves a mark on this world. It is my desire that you enter eternity with a glorious legacy. A young many came into my office this week and told me that his grandfather told him while he was near death, “No matter how far you go, the Lord can help you through anything if you turn to Him.” These words many years ago left a mark on a young man that time couldn’t take away. However, as we look around us, there are times when we can get discouraged. The Psalmist in Psalm 73 was beginning to look at the prosperity of the wicked and struggling with suffering. He almost got tripped up until he went into the house of the Lord and understood the end of the wicked (Psalm 73:17). I am thankful you are in the house of the Lord today--the first Sunday of the year. Praise God! Let’s turn to Gal. 6:6-10 and see what the Apostle Paul lays out three ways that we are to enjoy Christian freedom and doing good 1) Supporting the Minister 2) Sowing to the Spirit and 3) Serving all men, especially the Household of Faith. Let us look at some of these house rules for the people of God.
