The First Toledot

Many secular critics would have us believe that the Bible, in passages like Genesis 2, is a mishmash of disorganized sources. Yet by understanding the word "toledot" as "genealogy, generations, or account of" what appears to be a an out of place account retelling account of Creation is actually a deliberate, logical presentation that sets the stage for a crucial event in the Bible- the Fall of Man. This understanding can give Believers confidence in the authority of the Word of God.
