Discerning the Time

Why when Communism has never worked and will never work do certain people seem unable to see its shortcomings? The answer is that they don't want to see them because of their presuppositions. You could pile up all the evidence in the world and they would remain unconvinced.

In a similar way men refused to see that Jesus was the Messiah, and that his advent was the time of their "visitation" by God spoken of in the Old Testament. No matter how overwhelming the evidence for His being the promised Redeemer, they refused to believe.

This should show us yet again that what is necessary for a man to truly believe is not more evidence, but the working of the Holy Spirit in his heart.
