Hungry and Thirsty For Righteousness

Jesus teaches us that those who desire righteousness the way the body desires food and water - when we are hungry and thirsty - that is the way we should desire righteousness. Our nature is to desire selfish pleasures, things of earth. But Jesus says the truly joyous ones are those who seek after what is right and holy, as defined by God. So that one characteristic of Christians is that they deeply want righteousness - both in themselves and in others and in their nation.
