Darkness and Light: Part Three

• We were not simply living in darkness, we were the embodiment of darkness.
• A Christian has undergone a tremendous change when becoming light as opposed to dark.
• When we are believers the light is turned on in your soul.
• Light bears distinct fruit that displays the new birth.
• Christians should hold up everything to the light of Scripture to test all things.
• The great sin of post-modern Christianity is not judging (discerning) things. We must grow in discernment to stand against Satan.
• We're to judge between right and wrong.
• We are to cautiously judge others by first judging ourselves against the revealed word of God. We judge behavior and words, not a person's heart or conscience.
• We are to discern the spirits and determine who's preaching truth and error by holding them up to Scripture.
• We are to discern signs and wonders
• Discernment is a gift but all believers are to discerners of correct doctrine.
• Your belief system is displayed by your behavior.
• We are to test everything by the Scriptures and discard anything that fails this test.
• Christian duty: Don't associate with "brethren" who practice deeds of darkness; Expose the darkness of the dark brethren in a spirit of humility so the offending brother may repent and be brought back into the Light. Be careful! The Christian life is walked on a balance beam.
• Stay awake spiritually! Slough off spiritual laziness.
• Be in light! A Christian is to be awake.
• Because Christians are light we must ACT like light. Doing so will glorify God, the Church and convert the unsaved. We must be serious about personal holiness.
