For many years, Elizabeth had been barren. During that time she remained faithful to the Lord, in her worship, walk and witness. In spite of her disappointment she remained true to her husband and to the Lord. The Lord was then pleased to bless her with a son in her old age, in answer to prayer, and rewarding her faithfulness.
