Looking to the Right Mountain

The day that we are in requires us to persevere and be strong; to be aware of the real danger of apostasy, lest we become discouraged and doubts are sown in our minds. The giving of the law on Mount Sinai brought with it the fear of the consequence of disobedience. The people were warned, on the pain of death, that they were not to approach this mountain. We however, under the new covenant, are encouraged to have Mount Zion, that heavenly Jerusalem in our sights. It is a place that has happier prospects for sinners and where the message is one of hope, not judgment. This is the dwelling place of God with His people.
