Ruth 1:1-5

I. Running from difficulties

a. A nation forgets their God (Judges 2:10)

c. Where will they go for refuge?

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own under-
standing; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.

II. “Just for a while” becomes a slippery slope

a. A family on the run

b. God pursues his own

c. Where will they call home?

III. Sometimes the end of your rope is the best place to be

a. A family forsakes their God

b. The God who refuses to let Naomi go

c. Where will Naomi go for help?
