pt 5. The Instruction and Commissioning of The Disciples

9

I happen to believe that this narrative is the story of Simon and James and Johns Conversion and comensing into missionary training.
The reason that I believe that this is the account of the conversion and Commensing into Missionary training, or discipleship training is Simon Peters confession of sin and depravity and Christ' subsequent mercy and grace and commissioning of Peter and James and John.
This passage gives us a clear example of how Christ finds, and produces disciples. It is a pattern that we should want to follow as we seek to be faithful to our Master and to His Great Commissioning of all His Disciples. We see Four landmarks that must be followed in order to truly disciple anyone in ministry.
The First is the Introduction. In the since of a lost sinner first hearing of the Savior.
First is the general introduction,
‎Jesus didn't ask permission, He initiated an invitation. Here again you have to think of our own language here, this invitation is Jesus provoking Simon to become Peter the stone or Rock. ‎‎Jesus, invites, in the since of provokes every single person that He saves to become completely different than they are. look at 2 Corinthians 5:17 If you are in Christ you are a new creation with new desires and loves.
‎The next stage is what we call the effectual call. ‎That invitation might look different in different context but what is always the same is the Proclamation of Exclusive Divine Holiness, and the establishing of Depravity, exposing of sin, and the Perfections of the Lamb of God who Paid the sin debt as Redeemer of the Elect.
