Haman the Agagite, An Ancient Foe

32

One might as well have expected a Jewish man to bow to a descendant of Hitler as bow to an 'Agagite'. Mordecai finds himself faced with the ancient foe of Israel and cannot bring himself to pay him honour.

The response from the enraged Haman seems extreme, rather than seeking to revenge himself on the man who offended him, he seeks to wipe the Jewish race out throughout the entire empire.

The third part of this story about providence considers this terrifying response and how the people of God should respond when the world seems to turn in a menacing direction, or when the enemies of God appear to be in the ascendancy.
