The Character of False Teachers

Unbelievers who are false teachers have an agenda, are corrupt in their doctrine and character, and well know how to give the appearance of being what they claim. Their claim of being believers will render them deceptive at least for a time. Immoral lifestyles will betray their profession as will their attitudes, ambitions, and motives when evaluated in light of God's word. God knows them, their efforts, and will bring them under judgment. Believers need to carefully examine all teachers they listen to and be mindful that tolerating false teaching will have an ungodly influence on life and godliness. Personality, appearance, and personal characteristics must not allowed to cause believers to drop their guard or tolerate the error in their teaching.
