That Rock Was Christ

Proposition: Why did the Lord lead His people to the place where there was absolutely no water? Because they needed to learn that He is the ultimate source of life. It was His presence and grace that sustained them. We must learn this truth, that we must know, respect (fear) and trust the Lord. He even gave the Lord’s Supper to teach us this truth.

I. “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man”

II. “But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able”

III. The Lord is the way of escape. “Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry”
