Jacob: Returns to Bethel

The particular reason God gives for sending Jacob to Bethel is to build an altar. As we have seen through our study of the patriarchs –Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – God taught them to worship and praise Him by an altar. Of course, the altar points to Christ who is the altar, sacrifice and priest for His people.
