Whoever Believes in Him

This is Jesus confronting Nicodemus with his unbelief and the need to be born again of the Spirit and to realize that his righteousness is as filthy rags in God's sight. It is Jesus sharing the plan of salvation using an Old Testament text Nicodemus would have been familiar with from Number 21: 4 - 9 and then comparing that to Him being lifted up, crucified, for the sins of the people.
