Lk 17 30-37 When the Kingdom Comes 2 of 2

8 ( 5 | 3 )

As we bring our study of this text to a close, we see a horrific finality to the judgments that will accompany the second coming of the Son of Man. The disciples are stunned by what they are hearing and can only ask, "Where Lord?"

In effect, Jesus' answer is, "EVERYWHERE." (cf. Jude 14-15)

How do we respond to something like this?

How about doing some serious self-examination to see whether you are in the faith? 2 Peter 3:11 warns us of the coming judgment and asks the rhetorical question of how we out to be in light of this coming reality. It is time to take some serious stock of yourself before God.

Are you tending to shrink away from Him in shame? (1 Jn 2:28) Or, are you eagerly watching for the appearing of our glorious Great God and Savior? (Titus 2:13)

We didn't quite finish today...we'll get the final verse next Sunday...God willing.
