David had a house. But the Ark of God dwelt in a tent. So, David opted to build God a house. God said: 'No. Instead, I will build you a house that will stand forever.' The house of David's natural lineage began its fall with Solomon & crashed with Zedekiah. David's house thru Jesus stands forever.
