Abraham's Tithe

Tithing...everyone's favorite topical sermon subject! Right? Wrong. Just Benny Hinn's favorite. A sincere loathing for charlatan, TBN, Word of Faith, charismatic abuses has kept me from ever preaching a sermon on tithing. I don't know what anyone gives to our local church and I never have. This I know: God's Word is true, He promises blessings for those who tithe with faith, and I've experienced the truth of His promise throughout my Christian life...especially in times of relative poverty. Genesis 14 records Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek. It's the first tithe in the Bible and there's much to learn from it.
