Rightly Dividing Signs, Miracles, Wonders And Speaking In Tongues

194

This study is not about limiting the Holy Spirit, not at all, I want as much of His outpouring action as I can possibly have.

On Monday of this week, we published an article on Charismatic pastor and Bible teacher Perry Stone that caused as near to a firestorm as we have had here in quite some time. Suffice to say it was a highly polarizing presentation, with passionate comments and emails generated on both sides of the proverbial fence. What was all the fuss about? It was about signs, miracles, wonders and speaking for tongues and the role that they may or not play in the Church Age in the 21st century. "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)

On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we take you all the way back to the day of Pentecost as recorded in Acts 2, and we look at exactly what the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was on that day, and the role and function of the Holy Spirit in our day, the Church Age. We will not be taking the 'historic positions' of any denomination in this matter, Charismatic, Pentecostal or Baptist included, and will instead look at what the word of God has to say about it 'according to the scriptures'. Also, we will be allowing our apostle, Paul, to have the last word on this subject.
