Setting the Stage: Unity

Paul is thankful for Philemon’s faith, love, and his sharing of his faith. He rejoices that he serves the brothers. In these things Paul and Philemon are united. They are fellow-workers for Christ and that unity will be reflected in Paul’s request of his old friend.
