The Parable of the Loving Samaritan

The question that the lawyer asked Jesus to tempt him was meant to give comfort to himself in knowing the extent of love he had to show his neighbor. It is not for us to ask who is our neighbor, we must ask who, Lord can we be a neighbor to? Time and again we fail. So we must also ask Lord, show thy mercy to us, wretched sinners, Lord, cover us in thy loving salvation; love for us Lord.
