Captain of our Salvation

God the Father glorified the Lord Jesus when He said, This is my beloved Son. Immediately thereafter, the Lord was tempted of Satan in the wilderness. And the first thing Satan called into question was Christ's relationship to the Father: IF thou be the Son of God.... In the same way, once God has called us His child, Satan begins his attack upon us, and Christ goes before us as the Captain of our salvation to show us how to address temptation and the battle against Satan.
