NEW TESTAMENT THINKING: GO PAST PHILEO TO AGAPE
'Phileo' is the Greek word for a deep brotherly love for a dear friend. 'Agape' is God-like, sacrificial, unconditional love (more than a feeling, an act of the will). Peter claimed to have agape love, but it proved to be only phileo. Yet in the end, Peter did have agape and challenges us to go past phileo to agape.
