The Inspiration of Scripture
Series In Praise of God's Word
The psalmist David writes,"In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me" (Psalm 56:4). We praise God when we praise his Word; and we praise God's Word by trusting it! It is our purpose with this series to increase our praise to God by increasing our trust in his Word.
The first thing we consider in praise of God's Word is that it is inspired. By God’s leading and guidance, a human author—influenced by his own personality, emotions, intellect, and experiences—wrote each word of Scripture. God inspired exactly what needed to be written, not a word more or less or different.
Scripture alone is God's perfect, certain, sufficient revelation of himself to us. If we want to know God better, we must know his Word better; we find God in his Word, we know God through his Word.
