How Can We Escape God's Wrath

113

We heard preached this morning how the Beast and the Little Horn in the last day will take over the world, but then will be judged by God and thrown into the lake of fire forever. We also heard about our Lord Jesus, who the Father will also judge as completely worthy, and to whom He will give the entire world as His eternal kingdom.

There is a danger about prophecy, that we will so rejoice in its details, and in the putting down of great wickedness in the end by God, that we forget that all men are subject to judgment and wrath for our sin.

We are all little beasts, and little little horns. How then, do we become those blessed Saints that Daniel refers to, who join in with Christ as He rules forever in Glory?

We tend to minimize our own sin next to great evil like the Beast's. We delude ourselves into believing that we are good enough to get by.

But God has declared that all our righteousness is like filthy rags before Him. He has described how we are full of rotting sores and wounds that cannot be bandaged or salved or healed.

We are all bound for the same judgment as the Beast and the Little Horn.

But praise God, the very One Whom the Father judged worthy of all honor is the same One Who gave Himself as a sacrifice in our place at Calvary. So high and exalted a One as Jesus, humiliated Himself to take upon Himself our wickedness and sin and to be judged in our place at the cross.

Now all sinners who trust in Jesus, who claim His offering for their sin, He clothes in garments of salvation and robes of His Righteousness!

And so Believers are judged worthy, in Christ, to be made joint-heirs in His Glory and Reign forever!
